We're hosting the fifth installment of our student hackathon in the University of Sheffield, open to students across the world! We provide the WiFi, power, and food while teams of hackers create something new and exciting.
We’ll let you know about our events, and other hackathons we’re visiting.
hackSheffield wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors and partners.
If you're interested in sponsoring hackSheffield, please get in touch.
It's a hackathon in the University of Sheffield, open to students around the world! We provide WiFi, power, and food while you and your team create something new.
A hackathon is a programming marathon, where teams of 2-4 put their ideas together to create something exciting in only 24 hours. It gives teams of hackers a chance to turn their ideas into reality.
To attend as a hacker, you need to be a university student or have left university in the past year. Apologies, but we are unable to accept under 18s.
It's free to attend, but you'll need to reserve a ticket ahead of time. We'll post on social media when tickets are available.
If you want to sleep, we have rooms available where you can catch some Zs.
Your ticket, student ID, toiletries and a laptop with its charger. That's about it!
We have previously held our hackathons anually in October. Keep an eye out on social media for updates!
We currently do not have a travel reimbursement scheme. If you are a company interested in sponsoring a reimbursement scheme, please get in touch.
We follow the MLH Code of Conduct.
hackSheffield is organised by hackSheffield Society, a Sheffield Students’ Union society.
The society was founded in January 2016. Since then, we've held many events and look forward to organising further events within the university. We'd love to welcome you to our society, and maybe you could get involved!
